Until a week ago, her instinct was always the same: any time she was away from home, Halimahton Yusof would scan the streets, hoping to catch a glimpse of her daughter’s face. “I always looked for her. For the past few years I didn’t...

A very unfortunate incident truly. Incidentally i came across this piece of info in a news feature on NdTV yesterday itself and i was really shocked. Poor girl she has fallen prey to very harsh realities of life. If only she could realize that this is not the end of the world and there are better things to resort to, i hope she finds a way out!

This is the saddest thing i have read in this whole week and it really makes you feel bad. It shows how putting undue pressure on people works. I still do not understand why people are so hell bent on making young kids appear like geniuses. Most of the guys who ended up as great men started as average or even slow learners. This is what happens when you do not let a person grow enough emotionally and thrust stuff on them. This is truly sad and beyond that it is really hard to find any other words. Yes, I really hope parents learn from this... they should.

This is an irony of life. You can never tell what the future will bring to every child who has no parental guidance.

Children will always be children. There is time for everything; so parents need not to push them hard to the limits.

Sometimes, academic intelligence is not enough to be successful in life. Emotional stability within oneself is necessary to be more aware of what is the right thing to do in extreme situations.

Genius children need a break to relax and enjoy life. They are not robots. Probably, this child getting into sex trade feels some satisfaction for getting paid for her services and having extra attention that she hasn’t gotten from her parents.

But this dirty job is not a good deviation. Poor little girl, indeed. She has been a victim of her mother’s selfish desires.

It is really painful that Sufia chose this life. I read somewhere that she has said in an interview that she had a high sex drive since long and hence this profession. Her clients ask her to recite equations, etc. It is horrible that something like this can happen to a gifted child.

With all due respect, having read the article, I really dont have any sympathy for the girl. Attending Oxford at the tender age of 13 and being exposed to the ’student’ life of the ’elite’ is going to effect how you perceive the world. Im sure at Oxford you are taught that you make your own rules.

Personally I enrolled at a ’high class’ university in the UK. Ended up not graduating because I found a pleasure in playing online games rather than focusing on my degree. Its a choice you make and live with.

So whether its gaming or prostitution. At the end of the day its not for us to pass comments on prostitutes who formerly attended (and graduated) from Oxford.

By God, give me some baby!
